Have you spent any time online recently? Do you follow any celebrity pages? If so you might be familiar with a growing trend amongst celebrities and influencers alike. What am I referring to? The luxurious and meticulous cultivation of a top of the line skincare regimen that is not only clinically proven to get you results but also… outrageously unrealistic. No offense to any celebrities out there, I’m certain you had professional help putting that routine together. But a 10 step morning routine and a 20 step nighttime routine!! I prefer a more “user-friendly” routine myself. For those of you in the same boat, here are some helpful tips to save time AND keep your skin looking great.

Cleansers & Exfoliants - This is a well known tip, but these two products can be mixed together to save time. Whether you wash your face at the sink or in the shower, place some cleanser in the palm of your hand, followed by the recommended amount of exfoliant, and mix. Most exfoliants will recommended using 1-2 times a week, but this step gets easily looked over or even forgotten. So place your exfoliant next to your daily cleanser so it's easier to fit in on a regular basis. Your skin will thank you.

Masques - Masques are the last products I recommend for purchase and incorporation into a skincare routine. Not because they are less important or don’t work, but because of all the products, they take the most time and are kinda messy. But even this step can be condensed to save time. Best way in my opinion, is masque in the shower. Start with your skincare as soon as you step under the water. Get your masque of choice on and let it sit for however long the rest of the shower takes, then wash off. This also cuts back on the mess and makes it easier to incorporate more often.

Tinted SPF - Although this tip isn’t strictly skincare, it is still a really helpful way to simplify your overall morning routine. In the short term, using a tinted SPF can reduce the time spent applying foundation, if not completely replace the step all together. In the long term, favoring tinted SPF over traditional makeup greatly improves the health of your skin. Health looking skin is the goal after all that makeup tries to achieve. So tinted SPF equals healthy skin, means less makeup and more time. What could be better?
So when you are ready, give these tips a try. See not only how much your skin can improve but how much extra beauty sleep you can get!
