A barefoot massage method that employs the use of a fabric strap fastened to a massage table to deliver therapeutic myofascial and deep tissue techniques. This fabric strap is used by practitioners for stability and to add tensional and gravitational force to specific manual therapy techniques. These techniques, combined with the broad contact surface of the foot facilitate less restriction and more ease and relaxation in recipient's bodies.

Unlike the Western Massage most are used to, Traditional Thai massage uses no oils or lotions. The recipient remains clothed during a treatment. There is constant body contact between the giver and receiver, but rather than rubbing on muscles, the body is moved within the receiver's full range of motion. Techniques include bending, stretching, deep compression (using palms, thumbs, and feet), and assisting into supported yoga postures. A full Thai massage session typically lasts 90 minutes to two hours or more and includes rhythmic pressing and stretching of the entire body. This may include pulling fingers, toes, ears, cracking knuckles, walking on the recipient's back, and moving the recipient's body into many different positions. There is a standard procedure and rhythm to the massage, which the giver will adjust to fit the receiver.

This massage incorporates a light pressure and slow rhythmic movements to interact with the parasympathetic nervous system, responsible for the body’s state of “rest and digest”. Great for post surgery care, those with swelling/ inflammation issues, and for people who prefer/ require a lighter pressure.
